Fracture to both central incisors. Patient's chief concern is esthetics and then replace the missing upper teeth. Existing large composite on both central insicors. Best option would be all-tooth-colored crowns (emax) for longevity and esthetics. Follow up with upper partial denture.
Shade is chosen by Vita 3D Master Shade guide, which offer superior representation of color space. Because centrals were darker due to existing fillings, we decided to use the shade of adjacent teeth.
Provisional (temporary crowns) were fabricated in house. The provisional was actually a single piece, connection both central incisors together, instead of two separate provisional crowns. Connecting the two units offers improvement on retention and strength. The esthetics of provisional crowns is usually more challenging, especially when the units are connected together; sufficient embrassure (space near the contacts) must be created to give the illusion of two separate teeth.
Our lab technician was very skillful. Date of delivery was uneventful, and patient was very pleased by the result. Future plan include the replacement of upper teeth with upper partial denture.
