What can dental veneers do for me?
- Improve appearance of all front teeth to create a set of beautiful and natural smile in a short period of time
- Without to minimal tooth reshaping
- Without or minimal discomfort during process
- Instant color improvement to discolored teeth (in comparison to take home teeth whitening)
- Instant correction to minor teeth mis-alignments, gaps, or crowding (in comparison to braces)
- Porcelain veneers are stain resistant
- No special devices or extra steps to our regular recommended dental hygiene routine.
What are the disadvantages of dental veneers?
- Veneers cost more than composite fillings.
- Veneers can be chipped, cracked or debonded and the only option to these situations is to redo the veneer. So one of the contraindications would be teeth grinding and clenching.
- Once placed, veneers’ color cannot be predictably altered by the dentist.
- Veneers can be stained, especially the interface between the veneer and tooth structure
- Veneer requires sufficient healthy enamel for bonding, thus requires healthy teeth. If there are caries, crowns (see Crowns) are more appropriate options.
